My career in search started during the days of the dotcom boom. My initial experience was project managing the construction of a new search engine for Canadian Tourism. Since then I have been involved in Search Engine Optimization, Pay-per-click, Website project management and usability. I have a background in programming, networks and databases. Over the years I have had the privilege on working on quite a few notable accounts.

What does Glen do at Spark?

Search Engine Marketing: I examine and improve profitability for existing campaigns in all PPC engines. For new clients I strategize, roll-out, measure and optimize complex search solutions to achieve a good return for a diverse range of objectives and budgets. I am also called on to give presentations and to train corporations in SEM.

I enjoy helping companies to improve their internet marketing performance through usability and sales funnel improvements. We often utilize web analytics to troubleshoot problems and improve profits. I have helped develop new opportunities by adding value through technology and insight.

Usability and Conversion: I realized a long time ago that driving lots of qualified traffic to a site is not a guarantee of success. Often times the design of the website is the biggest influence on obtaining objectives. Too often I have seen well qualified traffic leave a site because of poor presentation. Since then I have studied usability, landing page and conversion improvement and taken courses. I have conducted numerous tests to measure the improvement brought about by changes to the layouts and may put out a book on the critical but poorly understood science.
