Paul Sveda - Creative Director, Photographer, Usability Expert
I'm a 30 something male of average height, average weight Caucasian with bohemian roots living in Canada who thinks he has something to say.
What does Paul do at Spark?
I am a web designer. I have been working in web development and design for the past 10 years. I have worked with several software applications, and have taught Macromedia Flash, Adobe Premier, Photoshop and 3-D Studio Max at various post-secondary institutions.
What I would like to do with my life.
If I could do anything I wanted, I would be knee deep in the Borneo jungles or huddled from the cold in the frigid wastes of a mountain range with camera in hand and my National Geographic traveling papers close at hand. I would get to see Gods world unravelled in front of my lens and captured one second at a time on film. I would miss my family deeply through it all but would find the reward in seeing a world of beauty that most miss.
My views on life and society.
I believe that most people are basically good or have the innate understanding of what good is and a desire to follow through, but we're also a self-centered, greedy and struggle with the baggage from the past. We need to realize that society is comprised of individuals, and that, although we can't change society or other people, we can at least change ourselves. If I could teach everyone in the world one thing, it would be this: "Constantly and consistently imagine a world in which every single person does the same things that you do. Is it a better place or a worse one?" Also, most people are never taught how to view things from other people's perspectives, often I fail here as well. In my opinion, there is no time for grudges or hatred or prejudice, there is no valid reason for only God sees the true hearts of men and women. Negative perspectives and closed minds are that which detract from all of the positive aspects of life. Only by putting yourself in other people's positions and seeing the world through their eyes can we begin to understand them. This can best be accomplished by opening your mind to life's experiences and education and your heart to God for understanding that is beyond simple fact.
