Google is entering into the ugly browser wars with Google Chrome.
According to the official Google blog they are launching the beta version of Google Chrome - a new open source browser developed by Google.
Have a look at the official post - and be sure to download it and take it for a spin! I’m already testing out IE 8 and I’ll be sure to install a copy of Chrome just to see what it can and can’t do!

HI, I also been crazy when i read about chrome on google news because it’s really crucial for other web browsers like: Internet explorer, Mozilla who are in the internet business for years. Lets sit ‘n watch who would be the winner in the browser race..

The single search/URL bar is amazing. Yes, it takes some time to get used to, but it’s far more elegant and useful than a separate search bar.

I’ve been using it for a couple of days now and I really like it. It’s super fast!! much faster then firefox 3.0..highly recommended. I’m anxious to see what the community comes up with since it is open source..

I like Firefox’s plugins. I can’t abide IE. Opera is nice as a backup. _Another_ browser? Yawn.

I like chrome interface. it also fast and flexible. the only things I hate is it doesn’t come with any plugin .. even can’t install google toolbar… lol.. its ok because it just a beta version.
when the time comes, it will beat firefox. but I’m not sure about ie because most people in the world using windows and windows comes with ie as default browser.

I’ve read some reviews and I still hear that IE takes the cake. Of course I run on MAC and IE isn’t willing to go down that road, so Chrome it is for me. Until Apple puts some time into making Safari not suck.

Fast always works for me and I am reading that all around the place….I have been delaying it for some reason but must download it.
I think with the Google name behind it, that gives it a far greater boost into the “average surfer” niche as surely even ppl who can barelys end an email have heard of google.

Chrome looks like an interesting browser and it will be interesting to see how it fairs with firefox, but for me i still prefer ie7.

@ Energy Saving Lighting - IE 8 is on its way out the door, and Firefox 3 works well. Unfortunately for Chrome it’s featureless and Steve Gibson on Security Now is concerned about it’s security!
So, I’m sticking with FF for now!

It is about time we got a new browser to play with and from Google no less! This sounds like fun, I will have to try it.

@Number Forty - I’d wait before you try it. There are some serious flaws in the browser and there are likely more to be found!

Cool but so far, there have been no announcements about deals with vendors such as Dell Inc. and Hewlett-Packard Co. to get Chrome pre-loaded on PCs.
