Google Testing Ads On The Bottom Of The SERPS
Like Yahoo! Google is now testing the display of Ads at the bottom of the search engine results pages.
According to some marketers they’ve seen in the wild - tests by Google of Ads displayed at the bottom of the search engine results pages.
I use Yahoo! and I’ve never personally clicked an Ad at the bottom of the page merely because the quality of the results are usually so good that I never get that far. However, since Yahoo! has had this for quite some time I have to assume that it’s being used otherwise they would have gotten rid of it. Google’s test of it reinforces the fact that it must be working for some.
So it looks like there may be one more Ad position coming for Adwords soon! For more on the story visit Search Engine Land.

Hi Chris,
I hope you are having a great week-end. The weather has been awesome so far.
I haven’t seen the ads you are referring to but it’s good news for PPC advertisers as it will offer them another option. Sometimes, you get a better ROI from lower positions.
I’ve also noticed that you are a Yahoo! search user. Have you made any analysis comparing the results from Yahoo! vs Google lately? It would be interesting to compare.

I think there are very few people who browse the results upto bottom. And people clicking on the ads that are shown in the bottom are going to be very few.

They are doing experiments like everyone would do. And i think they will make some results.
For me it doesn’t matter where the ad is displayed, if i find something interesting, i will click.
Also bottom ads could lead to more accidentally clicks..

According to recent studies, the CTR is higher with the 3rd position on the right than the 2nd position on the right. It is also higher at the bottom than at the 5th position on the right. Of course, less people will click on a bottom ad but advertisers also pay more for top ads. Personally, I focus on ROI so if an ad provides a better ROI at the bottom I will certainly use that position.
