		<description>It is true that H1 and H2 are very important for SEO, but it can be both useful and harmful for one's site.

A dangerous mistake that many wordpress theme makers are committing at the moment is using more than one H1 tag in a page.

Like you said, SE crawlers separate the H1/H2 tags from the rest of the page but more than one H1 tag actually signals to the crawler in itself that something is fishy and that the webmaster of that site might be doing something "Black Hat" to increase his rankings in the SERPs.
