New Backlink Checking Tool
March 24th, 2008 Posted in Cool Tools
Web Design Elixirs has released a new backlink checking too. I’ve tried it out and while the report needs a little polishing it appears to work fairly well.
The report queries Yahoo! for the backlinks and is able to report data on 3000 links while Yahoo! only reports data on the first 1000. The report provides you with:
- Domain Page
- Inbound link URL
- Anchor Text
- NoFollow status
- Redirect status
- Page Title
- Heading
- Total Links
- IP Address
I suggested they add the following to make the report a little friendlier:
- Domain being checked & PR
- Total Links
- Total Links Reported On
- Report Date
- Download to TSV option
Give the backlink report tool a test drive. Let us know what you think by posting a comment here!

Hi Chris,
To clarify a few things:
3000 ibl’s would only be available for registered users by using the Google Webmaster Tools download…for those domains with that many backlinks or more in GWT. The online tool uses Yahoo Site Explorer which has a limit of 1000 ibl’s.
We added a note to copy and paste the table into Excel (which is why it is a bit plain jane :) )
The spreadsheet version does include everything you suggested and more (except PageRank) pre-formatted with 3 worksheets, 1) a summary page of relevant totals, 2) ibl detail page, 3) specific anchor text by page.
We did not include PageRank, the cache date of the ibl page, or number of backlinks of the ibl page simply because we have no way to do that and comply with Google’s tos…. Those are all relevent but our daily API limit would be exceeded due to volume of link data.
Regards,
Robert

I am looking for a back link checker, that also show PR of each back link.
Does this tool do this?

It’s an excellent tool. I like the feature that allows you to use the Google Webmaster download for link analysis.

Yeah! It’s coming in quite handy!

The tool looks really detailed, but do you think all those features will really come in handy?
Isn’t it better to rather focus on good content, and traffic will come naturally.

Naa, i think it I rather just use market leap tool. I like that just because it is simple, and quick to use.

The points you have added seem more useful than the ones already present.

Thanks! We’ll check out their tools too.

Hey Adam
They certainly do come in handy. Knowing how you’re site compares to the competition with respect to all of these little factors is critical.

Sounds handy - although 3000 isn’t that much for keeping track of your own backlinks, it’s a pretty good number when you’re sifting through someone else’s looking for a little link inspiration.

Just ran this tool from the website, i usually use mypagerank.net, which has lots of great tools (and no im not affilliated thus the http not added to that link lol)
results: i must say i do like it. I think the tool misses a lot of links that i ‘know’ exist, but the layout and the fact that the tool displays the no follow status is my fav part of the tool. i prob will come back and use this again from time to time.
worth a bookmarking. KUDOS !

It is a nice tool but the data requires polishing and more work. Nice handy one although.

I like this tool. It’s pretty detailed, and it’s very quick and easy to use…that’s always a plus.
