Internet Marketing Consultant

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Understand our client’s objectives / needs by asking appropriate questions; offering strategy suggestions.
  • Implement the Spark Internet Marketing Search Engine Optimization and Pay Per Click services including but not limited to:
    • Analyze website architecture, link structure, content, and document optimization recommendations.
    • Develop improvements to new and existing sites that result in top page natural search listings for Google, Yahoo & MSN.
    • Create new micro-sites websites including copy, meta tags, page title/descriptions, internal linking, sitemap, etc.
    • Follow proper SEO guidelines with respect to coding and adherence to established copy/keyword standards.
    • Research targeted keywords and match up to relevant content pages.
    • Monitor overall SEO program success with regard to keyword ranking, indexed pages, back links, etc.
    • Clearly communicate progress updates to management and provide answers to any questions related to the SEO campaigns.
    • Perform competitive analysis to help improve future SEO results.
    • Maintain knowledge of current SEO practices to develop and recommend new SEO strategies.
    • Maintain awareness of various SEO resources and tools.
    • Establish partnerships for link-building
  • Successfully obtaining and negotiating inbound links
  • Demonstrate an understanding of clients industry by engaging in on line research of the industry and reading relevant materials
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills
  • Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast paced environment
  • Willing to learn and be educated on new and emerging SEO techniques
  • Ability to write compelling content with SEO principles in mind
  • Attention to detail and strive for excellence
  • Project Management related experience is beneficial – meeting client milestones is a must
  • Intermediate to advanced experience in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Intermediate to advanced experience in Macromedia Dreamweaver
  • Intermediate experience with HTML, JavaScript, and knowledge of RSS, XML and syndication
  • Understanding of general principles of content management systems and dynamic applications
  • On going research and technical education
  • Some travel required to attend industry events and trade shows
  • Contribution to corporate events, charities, and business building activities
  • University or College degree in marketing or Computer Science
  • Motivated and able to work independently and within teams

Qualifications:

  • 1 + years experience with SEO and PPC
  • Google AdWords Qualified Individual
  • Experience with search engine advertising platforms like Google AdWords, Yahoo Search Marketing and MSN Ad Centre considered a strong asset
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in Adobe Photoshop, Dreamweaver, MS Office, and Analytics
  • A good sense of humour.
