Comments Can Be Made Without Registering & You Get A DoFollow Link!

Christopher KataAfter careful consideration we’ve decided to make two important enhancements to this blog. These enhancements, while easy to implement will make the experience of this blog far better for you our readers overall.

First, we’ve removed the NoFollow attribute on all comments. We’ve done this because we want to give some credit to those people who read the blog, and take the time write meaningful statements about it. Obviously we review all comments and keep the spam out. We feel this will encourage many more people to subscribe and actively comment on the blog and thereby provide an even richer more meaningful experience for everyone.

Second, we’ve allowed comments to be posted without registering. Registering is a hassle – and often times means the difference between someone commenting and not commenting. So we’ve removed the restriction. Again – we constantly review comments and we’ll remove spam to ensure only quality comments are made.

Like I said, these are not complicated changes. In fact there trivial to implement. However, we sincerely believe it will improve the overall useability, quality and awareness of the blog it’s valuable content

If you have any questions or comments about this change – please post them. You don’t have to register and you’ll get a dofollow link to your site.

With a good SpamCatcher like Akismet or something else, you could even disable “moderated comments”.

    Hi Stefan,
Thanks for the tip! We’ve got the Akismet plugin and we’ll enable as soon as possible!

try also setting up the comments directly like, comments with links will be held for moderation.

but definitely if you’re lazy enough not to moderate, Akismet will do.

    Hey Linden Man
Thanks for the info. I value the fact that the comments get posted right away for the users sake. Even if it’s got a link :)

Congratulations on joining the DoFollow movement. I hope you see a big increase in quality comments. Between akismet and moderation spam shouldn’t be an issue.

Thanks! Actually it opened the flood gates so to speak on the comment side of things!

Frankly, it’s one of the most important tips implemented on our site to date to increase subscribers and comments.

In a perfect world Akismet and a good spam filter should be enough but often it is not. Moderation is still necessary.

Thanks for caring about you readers and I like the current theme.

For the most part we’ve not seen much “spam” come through Akismet. In fact, we get more legit comments flagged as spam than spam gets through. So the bulk of my moderation is approving legit comments marked as spam!

Glad you like the content too!
