Facebook Opening It’s Members Up To Google

posted by Christopher on September 5, 2007

Christopher KataFacebook has announced that it’s opening it’s index of users up to search engines such as Google for indexing. To protect the privacy of members, upon logging into Facebook users will have an option to opt out of this new service. Once indexed a search on Google for a users name will show a short description and their thumbnail image.

This is a tremendous opportunity for those interested in controlling their personal identity online as Facebook is an authority site and can likely be used to out rank other less desirable content ranking for your name!

If you don’t already have a facebook profile, we highly recommend you get one now!
