Google Allows You To Sort Your Search Results
December 4th, 2008 by hbond{{chris}} If you’re logged in while searching on google you can now resort your results, remove entries, and add your own.
This next move by Google has been in the works for quite some time now. Having used it myself I’m not quite sure what the real benefit is to me as a user. What I mean is I use Google to find things I don’t already know about. If I know about it – I’ve likely bookmarked it or remember the URL. I don’t need to use Google SERPS to have precisely the results I want. That being said – I am convinced millions of people are going to play around with this and Google will eventually put this good data to use in some way for the rest of us performing regular searches.
Have you seen this new feature? Have you tried it. Let me know what you think about it and how you feel Google will put this information to use.

The SeachWiki is going to be used for SERPs… I believe that after a good amount of time passes (to allow comments to be collected and analyzed) Google will take these comments into consideration for which sites return for which keywords.
I have used it, I don;t really see any point to it…
For sure they will try to use these data to get better results, but I am not sure if they really need extra data using the Wikisearch .. now Google tool bar comes with any Adobe flash installation so they will have more than 80% of internet users having Google tool bar where they can track user behavior even better than the Wiki search
I am also very curious how this will work, if people will use it and if Google will keep this feature!
This doesnt really sounds right, how will google allow you to sort out your search results, dont they make profit from showing you the sort of results people pay them to show??
I don’t like that feature. Since then I had always used Google search while signed out. I think Google is collecting data from user behavior in order to improve search engines. I myself don’t think all searchers are smart or even type in the right search terms. Good quality websites being removed and rubbish websites climbing up the ladder because users ‘think’ the sites are good. I don’t think it will work.
google is just trying to collect user data and information to gain for private use
What do you think they are using the data for?
thanks good post
