Google Launches Free Ad Serving Platform

March 17th, 2008 by

{{chris}} In keeping with it’s trend of releasing free for all services with a great level of quality and reliability – Google has launched it’s free Ad Serving Technology called Ad Manager.

We’ll be testing this platform out on some of our test properties over the next few months and we’ll keep you up to date on our findings. If you you’re in the market for an Ad Serving technology for your websites you should probably check it out.

The only downside is that Google would of course have access to your information – while they claim they will never use it – you never know!

If you’re already trying it out and have some opinions – please share them with us here!

That looks really easy to use-couldn’t be any more convenient.

Google ad products usually work really well. They didn’t get a giant part of the market for nothing.

That sounds great! Let’s just hope it works like it’s supposed to.

I trust Google they are too big to start doing anything stupid with people’s information. It sounds like a good idea/service to me.

I think Google is starting to get its fingers in too many pies. And everything seems to be in perpetual “beta”.

    Hey Chic-Street,
There is no question that they are always in Beta! It’s actually quite the joke these days.

Fortunately though each time they acquire a new service they don’t destroy it like many other companies. Google appears to improve it, and for the most part make it free.

Now that could be scary since they appear to be doing it right and eventually will start putting smaller business out of business!

I agree on the point about privacy. Google do say that they’ll never use the information they collect, but you know that must be a half truth at best! Look at how personalised search changes things when you have it on!
